Changes observed with psychodrama in outpatient neurotic woman aim

Abstract

Psychodrama was applied to a group of neurotic structured outpatient women.With this method our expectation was to open them different windows, to give them the chance to step out of the roles they were accustomed to, and to realize the specialities of a more satisfying life for themselves.

Method

Thirteen neurotic patients participated in this psychodrama group study and the study was completed with 11 patients. 16 sessions and 50 hours of psychodrama practice in total were applied to the participants. Along with the Socio demographic data form, beck depression scale, beck anxiety scale, somatization scale, rosenberg self-esteem scale were applied as pre-and post-test.

Results

As a result of the group study, the group members stated that they had positive changes in themselves and said that they benefited from the psychodrama method. Significant differences were found in beck depression scale, beck anxiety scale,  somatization
scale and Rosenberg self-esteem scale.

Conclusion

It was concluded that psychodrama method positively helped women patients with neurotic structures to realize the roles they were stuck to and take action towards change.
